In one of the most jaw-dropping announcements in recent gaming history, CD Projekt Red dropped the official new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt during the Gamescom 2026 opening ceremony: Songs of the Past. This brand-new content takes Geralt of Rivia to a province never before explored on the Continent: the mysterious coastal region of Letten.
Geralt's Return and the Province of Letten
Set between Redania and Temeria, the province of Letten is a foggy, swampy territory brimming with ancient folk legends, legendary monster contracts, and lingering political conflicts from the Northern Wars. According to the developers, the expansion will add more than 30 hours of narrative gameplay packed with high-impact moral choices.
New Hunting Mechanics and Refined Alchemy
Beyond a fresh main questline, Songs of the Past introduces improvements to melee combat and an Archaic Alchemy system, allowing you to craft oils and elixirs that affect the behavior of colossal creatures.
